A Quick Stumbleupon Tip
By Matt Jones on Feb 18, 2008 in Blog Marketing
Stumbleupon is the number 1 source of traffic to Blogging Fingers. I believe this is the case for many other blogs that leverage it. When you Stumble a post, it appears to your friends and fans when they next go Stumbling, who can then Stumble the post and send more traffic.
What Is A Stumbleupon Fan?
On the Stumbleupon help page a fan is described:
“Fans are people who have clicked “add as friend” on your profile. This means they will now stumble upon your favorites sites which are of interest to both of you. You can see all of your fans at the bottom of your friends tab.”
You have a limit of 200 friends, but no limit on fans. Therefore increasing the number of fans is a way to drive much more traffic. A quick and simple way to do this is by by adding a link to your profile from your blog, encouraging people to add you. I’ve done this on Blogging Fingers and I have been getting a few new fans each day.
See my previous quick Traffic Driving Tip With StumbleUpon for another equally simple way to send traffic to your blog.

I was doing pretty good with StumbleUpon but I changed my Wordpress theme and the link was no longer there, but I didn’t notice until I just read your post.
I will have to add the link back in again. Thanks for the reminder Matt.
Glad to be of help James
I never thought about putting a link to add me as a SU friend on my blog. Great idea Matt!
