Auction: Buy My Page On The Million Euro Wiki

- Auction Closed -

The Million Euro Wiki has rocketed to success after being pushed by the power of several popular blogs. Now is a great time to take advantage of that buzz. Back when the good pages were still available I snatched up the Blogging page, knowing that it’s value was only going to increase.

In case you missed it CashQuests sold their “Business” page for $180. Money can clearly be made with these pages and now is your chance to bid for the highly desirable Blogging page.

Why You Should Bid

1. The power of the Blogging Page. I have done absolutely nothing to promote the page, yet it has been viewed over 300 times. The blogging page is a traffic magnet.

2. You can do what ever you want with the page, including promoting your blog!

3. This page has the hosting paid for it for life. If you can’t make a profit in that time I think you are in the wrong business!

4. Owning a page allows you to join the highly lucrative Million Euro Wiki affiliate program. You will be given a discount coupon that allows you to offer $10 off from the standard $100. You earn a whopping $30 for every page sold via your coupon!

5. Win a 16GB iPod Touch! For every 25 pages sold, one of page-owners is randomly selected and given a brand new 16GB iPod touch worth $400!

6. You can sell the page off in an auction like this one!

At the moment the page is monetized with various affiliate programs, all of which I earn recurring payments from but you are free to do what ever you like.

You could buy a page now for $90 by entering BloggingFingers, but making a bid for the Blogging page now would be an even smarter move.

How To The Auction Will Work

  • Bids will be made via the comments or private negotiation
  • Bidding starts at $0. If there are no bids, the page will be given to the first commenter
  • Each bid must be $10 higher than the last
  • Auction is open for 24 hours - Extended by 6 hours to account for timezone differences. Auction ends once and for all at 4.30pm GMT
  • B.I.N (buy it now price) is $250
  • Payment accepted PayPal
  • You will receive the page within 12 hours of payment being sent.

Let the bidding begin!

What an opportunity! Now if only I had some monies…

You are set to win it if there are no bids

well, considering the Cow just sold off the full site (not 1 page) in an auction starting with a reserve id of $100, i’d say your B.I.N. is way too high.

Comment by Matt Jones | 2007-10-09 11:49:36

True he sold it off, but the new owners are very committed making each page even more valuable than when he was running the show.

Here is what the new owners asked johncow to tell everyone:

“Re-assure everyone that with 2 - 4 people (partners included) actively marketing MEW that it will fast become the number 1 Million$$Wiki site
Existing Affiliate program and iPod program will remain for existing customers.
This deal was made on the back of a 1 hour conference call to ensure the right people will now run the site.
We are not a couple of young kids making a quick buck, we are in for the long haul and will constantly strive to ensure everyone get value for money.
Regular updates to Main page
Regular Blog updates
We are on a different timezone to most customers so please understand this difference.
We are open for constructive criticism and will act upon feedback from customers and partners as needed”

Judge for yourself

Comment by CashQuests | 2007-10-09 12:17:54

PropertyIreland - that’s just illogical. The income of the MEW site(and it’s selling price and BIN)is completely separate to the income of Matt’s page(and it’s selling price and BIN.

$10 bid from me.

Comment by Matt Jones | 2007-10-09 12:22:14

If you get this for $10 and flip it again for $180 that will be one hell of a story!

CashQuests, I really have no interest in getting into an argument with you on other peoples blogs, especially as you banned my own comments on your own blog just for critising the MEW!
However, if you think that 1 page on a 73 page site can be worth more than the complete 73 pages, I wonder about your state of mind, especially with you now only offering $10 for pages that you yourself were trying your best many times over the last few weeks to flog to your own readers for $90.

Were we arguing? I thought it was a discussion. I didn’t ban you from my site - maybe my spam filter is catching your comments…I’ll have to check it.

I’m offering $10 because it’s an auction and that’s the starting price. If you saw an auction started at $0 and jumped in with a $100 bid, I’d question your state of mind! :)

Hey Matt, don’t you think you are jumping a little too early in this game. I am sorry but I am not trying to argue or anything just stating my opinion. By the way I own 2 pages on millioneurowiki as well “web” and “domain name”. hope you get what you want for the pages, also does anybody know what millioneurowiki ( the entire site ) sold for?

Comment by jackbravo | 2007-10-10 02:35:25

hm…hey Matt, here’s another entrepeneurial idea…how about auctioning off othr people’s wiki sites to….since you’ve got quite a bit of reach in the blogosphere. :) Would you sell mine for a 15% cut? ;)

Comment by CashQuests | 2007-10-10 04:05:52

If Matt doesn’t want to….I may….what page do you have and how much do you want for it?

Comment by Matt Jones | 2007-10-10 08:06:19

I like the way you think jack. What is the page?

Comment by jackbravo | 2007-10-11 01:17:44

Hey Matt, sorry about that. Just posing a hypothetical scenario…….although, maybe that I have 2 takers, I’ll buy a page so one of you can sell it for me?? hehehe…If I only had 90 internet dollars, I surely would. Unfortunately, still a z-list blogger….so….maybe next opportunity (if it ever comes again).

Thnks for the message though.

Comment by Matt Jones | 2007-10-11 10:25:13

Ok, shame though.

If the bidders back out I will buy it for $27 Million dollars but first I need your bank account details so my friends in Nigeria can confirm everything is okay on your end.

It’s all done and fast :D

At least, you recovered your initial investment.

Comment by Mubin | 2007-10-10 18:00:47

Interesting, the initial investment is covered and you both walk away with affiliate links. How convenient? Or maybe more like an inconvenient truth??

Comment by Matt Jones | 2007-10-10 18:29:40

I have given McGrath the username +PW for my MEW account. Providing he has changed the PW I cannot log in to collect any earnings from my coupon code from now on

Comment by Mubin | 2007-10-10 22:47:12

That Sux, I thought I read somewhere that if a page is sold you both get affiliate codes, ask kuminko about this because I am sure she asked the cow about this.

Comment by Matt Jones | 2007-10-11 10:26:05

Thanks for the heads up Mubin. We will get it all sorted out.

Comment by collin | 2007-10-10 23:43:21

Comment by pierre | 2007-10-12 10:28:14

I think I will sell my page on MEW
