I’ve made a few changes to the Blogging Fingers layout, which hopefully will benefit everyone.
What Has Changed
The two banner ads I tested in the header are gone, moving the content back to the top of the page.
The list of ‘recommended posts’, which were only recommended because they contain affiliate links is gone.
The feed count and RSS button have moved to the middle sidebar, replacing the recommended posts.
I’ve created 6 125 x 125 banner spots in the right sidebar at the very top, giving advertisers maximum exposure and traffic. These cost $30 per month.
I’ve set up a series of special offers to try to give advertisers the best deal possible. Buying a banner gets you $10 off a review and buying a review gets you a free text link. I.e. you get a banner, a review and a text link for $65 until the banner and text link spots are all sold. For full details see the advertising page.
I’ve removed the BlogRush widget because the impressions I was getting gave terrible click-through rate. I’m sure no one wants another entire post devoted to repeating that 1 sentence.

Let me know what you think of the changes. Do you love it, hate it, or “meh” it?
Your search bar looks kind of wonky to me. Just my opinion though
Matt,
I like your new design. I have recently updated mine too. I think it is very good how your RSS button is so prominent. I look forward to reading what other people think.
Regards,
Fred
I like your design. I agree that your search looks strange up there.
I like the ads even, they look cool there. Best of luck with this…
Good decision - kind of annoying to see ads where your header is…
Nice ads layout, matt. Hope you could attract more advertiser using this new layout.
Thanks guys. Time to sort out that search bar.
I like the design as well. It seems that this box advertising thing is all the rage these days. I haven’t figured out how to do it on blogger yet, but I don’t I’d have any takers anyway, so the point is moot.
Keep up the nice work. And I liked your post about stumble upon. I’m putting it to work as we speak.

I like the new design. I definitely look forward to seeing other improvements!
keep up the good work!
Well done on the switch over Matt - and I definitely think the 125×125 ads will sell better for you than those banner ads.
Thanks guys, and thanks Adnan for the ideas in the first place
The smaller ads definitely less intrusive and can be more easily seen. Good job on the change.
