eBay Drops CJ: Good News For Bloggers
By Matt Jones on Mar 18, 2008 in blog news
Yesterday eBay announced via email they are dropping the cumbersome Commission Junction affiliate network to form their own “eBay Partner Network”.
The new platform will go live on April 1st and all affiliates who switch their accounts in April receive a 5% commission bonus for that month.
The best new feature which I am looking forward to most is the, “Easy global registration to multiple countries simultaneously“. At the moment being in the UK, Commission Junction Rejects my application, but the new system should allow it. I’ve been using Amazon Associates for my niche blogs, which due to the terrible 24 Hour cookies have a terrible conversion ratio (e.g. 600 clicks resulting in 3 sales…).
Other new features include:
- New, targeted banners and rich media creatives
- New landing page optimization and geo-targeting capabilities
- More detailed reporting capabilities for eBay’s programs
This Good news for bloggers with product based niche sites! I will be updating the Blog Monetization Strategies e-book to contain lots of new information tips to make the most money from the eBay partner network when it opens in April.

Oh gee,
My fingers froze when I read that - I have literally 10s of thousands of eBay affiliate links on my various hundreds of news sites.
Oh, I am NOT looking forward to updating this at all….
THanks for the headsup,
Barbara
Barbara, that is one bad situation to be in! Any ideas on ways to do it without having to do it all manually?
That’s a good news for many of us! eBay really needs their own network. Wish you all success with eBay…
