Google PageRank Update In Progress
By Matt Jones on Jan 12, 2008 in blog news
The toolbar pagerank of the HomePage of Blogging Fingers increased last night from PR3 to PR4. I believe Google may be lifting the penalization for selling links that pass pagerank, now that I no longer do so. When the PR3 was originally given I was certain Blogging Fingers had been penalized.
A different blog of mine had its PR reduced from PR4 to PR3 yesterday, but the reason for that is that it is a dead blog. If the penalties are lifted across the board for blogs that now comply to Google’s rules it will have some big ramifications… we will have to play the waiting game.

That was why I was probing you the other day about your 24 hour ad sale. I wanted to see if you were going to be using rel=nofollow or not.
With a month worth of my content on your blog, your answers back were very important.
mine went up from 2 to 4
Good stuff
I was expecting my blog’s PageRank to increase this time around, but no - it dropped down to zero. I suppose that’s my own fault because I sell links. From now on I’m going to have to stop selling dofollow advertising and then submit a request for reconsideration. Google frustrates me sometimes, but I still think it’s pretty important to be seen as a trusted source in their eyes, no matter what anyone else says.
It is a shame that your PR was lowered, but I am glad Google is showing some consistency (at last!) in their PageRank policy.
Good News for me…
My blog went from a 0 to 5 .
I did well last time with a drop from PR5 to PR3. But this time, I’ve beaten the last record by dropping to PR0 - love you too Google.
I’m still a PR0 after having pulled everything paid off my site two months ago. I love Google - I just wish they would love me.
My blog goes from pr0 to pr3, thats pretty cool
