Ways To Increase PageRank: Tip No.2

Write 3 High Quality Posts For Guest Blogging
Note: For this Strategy each guest post must have a link back to your blog and a brief introduction about who you are.
I previously mentioned that guest blogging can be used as a way of gaming PageRank by hoping that the toolbar PageRank update happens while your guest post is still on the homepage of the blog, giving you a temporary valuable link.
While I am not suggesting you go out and to this there are some blogs which have high PageRank archives, e.g. Performancing, which has a Homepage of PR7 and archives of PR5. This means if you guest blog there you are guaranteed a long-term link of PR5 and a temporary PR7 link. The Googlebot will justly take the link from the archives into account and it should, as it is a long-term link and isn’t briefly artificially boost your PageRank in the way a homepage link does.
Strategy
There is no point writing guest posts if it means you don’t have time to maintain your own blog. To get around this problem you can spread writing each post out over a few days, with e.g. brainstorming some key points on one day, then churning out the main draft the next day and then tweaking it to perfection the next. Whatever way you manage to write these extra posts, they must be of the same standard or higher of those on your blog. The aim is to have them posted on top blogs and so they must be very well written for a number of reasons:
- The owner of the blog won’t publish them if they are not good enough.
- Many thousands of people will read them. Each post is an opportunity to grow your reputation or destroy it.
- You want the keep the owner of the blog happy. If they feel you have written an ‘only just acceptable post’ which lowered traffic for them, they won’t want you back to guest blog again.
Important Points On Timing
Writing 1 guest post is good, 2 is better but 3 or more is fantastic. Timing is critical. While you may wish to spread out the posts to try to maintain a steadier stream of traffic my advice would be to leave no more than a couple of days between each post. You want the bloggers in your niche to be seeing your name everywhere so they cannot resist but click your introductory link to visit your blog. Giving them time to forget about your last post is a bad idea. Waiting a couple of days also allows you to interlink the posts because you will have the URL of the previous posts to link to.
The phrase “Your blog is only as good as it’s latest post” is very true with guest blogging. Make sure there is more of your best stuff on your blog to help convert the new visitors into subscribers, but don’t lose hair over it, however many readers you convert the all important link and PageRank remain.
Conclusion
People often think of guest blogging as a slow, rather mundane marketing strategy but I assure you it is anything but that. It creates a rush of traffic, builds reputation and gains powerful inbound links which help SEO ranking and crucially, PageRank.

This is a great point of view Matt , I just want to add that this can actually be your change as a guest blogger to make yourself known , to impose yourself as an authority in the domain . Driving large amounts of traffic to your blog is a great thing , with some good ol’ quality content on the blog , maybe a catchy header and a slogan that will draw the visitors attention you could see your blog growing exponentially .

Hopefully you’ll see me around somewhere
